    A Professional Learning Community (PLC) is an extended learning opportunity to foster collaborative learning among colleagues within a particular work environment or field.
     
    The PLC committee at Lawnton formed during the 2013-2014 school year as a way for teachers to work together to improve teaching and learning across the building.  This committee is divided into three sub-committees: Data Analysis, Instructional Strategies, and Family Involvement.  
     
    A Student PLC was formed during the 2014-2015 school year as a way to give student representatives the opportunity to have a voice in decisions being made at Lawnton Elementary School. 
     
    As the committee continues to evolve, the plan is to invite parents to our meetings so they can be part of the process as well.
